This page highlights some of the craft projects I have developed and shared with residents in Long Term Care facilities. They are designed to be simple, tactile-rich, and to take into account various age-related impairments such as limited vision, one-sided weakness, and other potential barriers.
Some residents need a bit more help than others, but each project is able to be completed in a single session.
Several projects feature yarn wrapping around a solid object, while others are painting an object, or using Mod-Podge to cover a surface with colorful tissue paper. A couple projects involved “planting” artificial flowers in a pot, and another popular project was the sea-side terrarium where they poured sand into a plastic cup and then created a mini seashore scene with shells and artificial grass strands.
