The only difference between an experienced crocheter, knitter or sewist and new crocheter, knitter or sewist is that the experienced crocheter, knitter or sewist makes bigger mistakes faster. Be bold; there are no terrible consequences in crocheting, knitting or sewing.
(quote adapted from the words of Stephanie Pearl-McPhee)

This blog site began as a celebration of the way fiber arts activities bring balance to my life, and the lives of others. It remains dedicated to the simple joys of crocheting, knitting, quilting, and sewing, but I have expanded the scope. I began to see issues that I wanted to discuss and that impacted the larger fiber arts community. Lately, these have included technology’s impact (artificial intelligence), discord within the fiber arts community, and the continued challenges of selling handmade items and being able to command a fair price.
I continue to be grateful for the way that fiber arts ground me at a time when the world seems to be descending into unwelcome chaos.
Whatever our motivations, fiber arts, and crafting in general, remain a safe harbor and refuge for us all; and that’s worth celebrating, every day.
