Ye olde trinket bag

My nephew is a big Dungeons and Dragons fan, participating in several D&D groups, and serving as a Dungeon Master for at least a couple of those.

I was interested in crocheting something new and different, and came across the dragon egg dice bag patterns and immediately knew I wanted to make one.

I found some green wool yarn and grabbed a 4.25 mm (G) hook and got to work.

Once I got started, it flowed nicely and in less than 24-hours, I finished the bag – including the tie to close the top.

I downloaded 2 free patterns from Ravelry, but I ended up finding a pattern on a YouTube video tutorial that made it clear to me. We all learn differently, and we even find some explanations more easy to understand than others.

I sent a couple photos to my sister, who assures me that he will love it! I can’t wait to gift it to him, complete with a tag, in old script font, indicating that it was hand made, with a little bit of magic, just for him.

I’ve even picked a name for the gifter (me, in character): Clothilde Thisle

She appears to be an older woman but village tales suggest she is ageless and can “age shift”, appearing as a maiden or a crone; young bride or elderly grandmother. The jury’s out on whether or not she shape shifts beyond that,…

It all makes sense when you realize that making lovely things out of lengths of string is a magical act (it really is!) 🪄🧶
