I haven’t sewed for a little while and frankly, I was missing it. I think the last time I sewed was back in March when my sister and I attended a Quilt Retreat.
I had favorited a cute pattern on Etsy for a yarn bag, and yesterday, knowing I had several fabric options in my stash that might be perfect, I purchased it.
The pattern is by Lorelei Jayne and was fairly easy to make. I was able to select the fabric, print out the pattern, cut out the pieces and make the bag in one evening. I had yarn in it before I went to bed!
Someday my kids are going to wonder about my bag obsession when they find all these fabric bags in various shapes and sizes. 😆

A couple years ago I made a different tote out of the cat fabric (pictured above) and have gotten a lot of joy from it. I had just enough of that same fabric left to make this latest yarn bag.
When it was completed, I loaded it up with a few skeins of Michael’s Impeccable yarn since I continue to “stress crochet” the granny stitch bags, and it’s the perfect size. The internal pocket features a snap which allows small tools to be secured inside – a handy option.
It’s sometimes hard to understand how so much joy can come from a simple sewing (or yarn) project. Whatever the reason behind it, I’m grateful for the delight I get from my fiber hobbies and the little islands of creativity that are available to me at just about any time.
